I was going to say Happy New Year, but it's almost the end of January already! I hope you have been enjoying the snow with the kids. I find it's very refreshing (and infectious) to see the fun and wonder in this magical white resource which appears from nowhere, accumulates and then disappears without trace. Snowballs, snowmen, snow angels, sledging, footprints: it all makes a change from seeing just cold, wet, treacherous pavements, transport breakdowns, school closures... hopefully you've not been struck down with one of the many bugs in circulation, My son was sent home early from school today and missed his second of three swimming lessons
The new Tuesday afternoon stay and play is going well, and we've just received word of another session starting up in Ladywell: Wednesdays (from 30 January) 13:00 - 15:00, Ladywell Children's Centre, 30 Rushey Mead SE4 1JJ. Also, there is now a monthly Saturday dads group at the Sherington Centre in Charlton.
Look out for our Pancake and Chinese New Year events coming up in February - details will be posted here soon and via email bulletins.
My son's topic for this term at school is space, and so I was showing him this classic French silent movie from 1902, and since then my daughter (nearly 3) wants to watch it at least once a day. So here it is for your enjoyment:
